Position:                              Food Runner

Reports To:                         Assistant Manager/ Restaurant Manager

 

Position Description

The position of the Food Runner is primarily responsible for the delivery of food to the respective station and serving of customers. The Food Runner will ensure that service levels are achieved according to the standards set by the company.

Accountabilities 

  • Has a full and in-depth knowledge of the menu offering and wine list and special promotions
  • Assists the Servers with the servicing of their respective station
  • Performs side work duties prior to, during and after the shift according to the set guidelines
  • Delivers the orders of appetizer, entrees, dessert and beverages according to the set procedures and the customer's request
  • Assists the Servers when required
  • Communicate any relevant information including food allergies, special requests and potential problems arising from the serving of customers to management
  • Assist in any other restaurant related tasks as required by the management

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
  • Incumbent is occasionally required to taste or smell
  • Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and work in a standing position for a long period of time

 

Work Environment

  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office
  • Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice including weekends, nights, holidays
